She’s Ace Ladies Festival of Handball Winner

Big congratulations to Sophie Kane who won the 13 and under category of the She’s Ace national Ladies competition at the weekend. Sophie played opponents from all over Ireland to reach the final where she bet off  her Wexford opponent in two straight sets. Another title to add to her growing collection. Also well done to Abbie Kane who competed strongly in the 11 and under category. She made it all the way to the semifinals, a huge achievement to get so far in what has been a very successful year so far for her.  Katie Kane was due to play in the 17 and under category but had to pull out due to injury. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Presentation of Proceeds from Ballinamore Vintage Day 2025
On Friday the 12th September members of South Leitrim West Cavan Vintage Tractor Club presented a total of €7,000 from the proceeds of the Ballinamore Vintage and Family Day which was held on Sunday 1st June in Ballinamore, Co. Two cheques for €3,500 each were presented – one, in memory of Brian Lennon, went to SHOUT (Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust), and the other to representatives from the Longford Branch of Parkinson’s Ireland. These donations were made possible thanks to the amazing support we got at our annual Vintage Day – we’re truly grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.
