Little Larks
Leitrim Larks invite young voices to join Fionnuala for two singing sessions in Drumsna Community Resource Centre – Tuesday January 21st and 28th from 6.15-7.15pm. Little ones up to 14 years old will be encouraged to learn and sing a few local songs together and will have the chance to sing a song/tell a story in a relaxed environment. Sessions are free and are supported by Creative Ireland and Leitrim County Council. For the past year and a half, the Leitrim Larks have hosted monthly “Lend an Ear” sessions in various venues around the county – these are relaxed sessions where special guests entertain with a few songs or stories and then others are invited from the floor to sing or recite or bring whatever they want to the audience. We also learn a few local songs and info along the way. If you would like to host a session in your area – maybe you have an Active Age Group or other Community group or perhaps a nice community space or even a restaurant/café/shop that you think would be suitable – or if you know of a local singer/poet/storyteller who you think would make a great special guest, please get in touch with Fionnuala on 086 8664639 or check out www.fionnualamaxwell.com. It won’t cost you a cent – but you might like to have a cuppa for the group – and good listeners are always appreciated!
