Fenagh Handball Club’s ‘Progressive 25 Card Game’ resumes in Fenagh Visitor Centre at 8.30pm on Thursday 5th October. Nightly prizes, league prizes, raffles and jackpots. Refreshments served. All welcome. €8 entry.

St. Caillin’s N.S. Clothes Collection
There will be a clothes recycling collection in St. Caillin’s N.S. on October 12th. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft toys (no duvets or pillows please). Please drop off your bags during school hours or after school hours, any day before October 12th or drop off inside the school wall any time. Every bag counts.

If anyone would like to donate lego to the school, it would be much appreciated. You can drop it off to the school office from 10am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday.
Stretch, Tone & Relax Class
In Fenagh Community Centre. Tuesday evening’s at 8pm. 6 weeks of classes in total. 2 weeks in September & then 4 weeks in November.

The Irish Revolution in Leitrim 1912 – 1923
A Decade of Centenaries lecture by Dr Padraig McGarty will be held on Friday 6th October at 7.30 pm in Ballinamore Library. Dr McGarty’s talk titled “The Irish Revolution in Leitrim 1912-1923 – Reflection and Remembrance” will be of special interest to the people of Ballinamore and surrounding parishes. He will outline events in the Ballinamore area, and in the wider county during the traumatic period of the Irish Revolution including World War One, Easter Rising, War of Independence and Civil War. Admission to the lecture is free and all are welcome to attend.

Walking Group
Fenagh Walking Group is back. Every Wednesday at 7pm join us for a 5km walk around Fenagh. Hi-vis provided, recommend to bring a torch as the evenings get darker. Every week until the 25th of October. No need to book.
Public Talks
“Building Peace – Putting Yourself in each other’s Shoes” on Thursday 5th October, 7 to 9pm in The Island Theatre. A unique cross border/cross community initiative, where a number of key individuals, Victim, State, Republican, Loyalist will talk about their views on the Troubles and subsequent Peace Process. THIS FREE EVENT is organised by Better Together – Níos Fearr Le Chéile Peace Project, Ballinamore, which is funded by the International Fund for Ireland.
Scouts
1st Leitrim Scouts are now enrolling: Cubs (age 8-11years) and Scouts (age 12-15years). New and existing members are welcome. We will be starting our program in October (days and times will vary), activities will include hiking, camping, kayaking, basic first aid, map reading & survival skills, treasure trails, games, guest speakers, educational visits and much more. Hedge Cutting Grant Scheme 2023/2024
This scheme is now open and aims to encourage the cutting of roadside hedges/trees along the Public Road Network. Open to all, individual applicants, communities and groups. The Grant is €75 per km of the roadside hedge/overhanging trees which are cut back. Minimum length of road network per application is 1km. The Monk’s Den at Fenagh Visitor Centre is a great place for birthday parties. Cost: €25 non-refundable reservation fee (to be paid upon booking) + Option 1 = €12 per child (includes 2 hours of play, snacks, juice, kid’s meal, ice lolly) or Option 2 = €15 per child ( includes 2 hours of play, snacks, juice, kid’s meal, ice lolly & party bag).
