Fenagh History Film & Exhibition Launch – Heritage Week
Takes place Saturday 19th August 6pm at Fenagh Visitor Centre. Thanks to funding
from the Heritage Council, we have commissioned a film depicting the historical and
heritage sites of Fenagh by local film-maker Brian Duignan with voice-over by
Seamus O’Rourke. See Fenagh from viewpoints never before experienced and
explore what it is that makes Fenagh such a hugely important historical site. Our
resident tour guide Karin Holszschneider will then provide a short talk outlining some
of the more strange and obscure historical tales from Fenagh. Finally, thanks to
funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media
we are happy to re-launch our Selton Hill Exhibition in our exhibition space. This
exhibition tells the story of the Selton Hill ambush in which six volunteers of the
South Leitrim Brigade No 2 Flying Column lost their lives on the 11th of March 1921.
This exhibition will be on display for the remainder of 2023 in Fenagh Visitor Centre.
This event is free and our aim is to make accessible the fascinating history of our
village for everyone. Refreshments will be provided. Booking not required.
